John-Katris-HEC

The preparation for a master’s degree application is an arduous journey. Finding the right fit, passing the IELTS exam, taking the GMAT, and, of course, let’s not forget about the actual application. Yet, when looking for a prep center, choosing the right one can make a great difference in surpassing many of the obstacles lying ahead for a potential applicant. For me, Dia Gerontoudi Prep Center was the obvious choice.

In the hands of Mrs. Dia and Mr. Thomas, I received some of the greatest life advice and guidance for my future. Besides providing useful insight into the IELTS exam, Mr. Thomas helped me clearly define my career goals and find a suitable programme to apply for. What really stands out though is his ability to translate one’s ideas and selling points into an effective game plan when prepping for a statement or an interview. Calm, yet always cheerful, he was right there whenever those stress levels went up, willing to thoroughly answer every kind of question. Yes, even the dumb ones.

Moving onto Mrs. Dia, who has developed a unique way of teaching the verbal section. In just a few weeks, not only was I able to understand how most questions were constructed, but I could also generate the right answer without even looking at the options. To say, though, her teachings were limited in the scope of the verbal section would be a true understatement; they went far beyond that. Up to this day, I still reflect on many of them. Her greatest assets are undoubtedly her empathy, wisdom and deep understanding of what it takes to reach the upper echelons of not only the verbal part (super important for rocking a good GMAT score), but also life itself. The latter is what defines her as a person: a true pedagogue by all means.

Last, but definitely not least, let’s not forget about Mr. Karalis, who is literally armed with an array of simple yet clever tricks to tackle even the most complex of quant problems, and the wonderful Mses. Vally and Valentini, always there to give useful tips, lend a hand and provide a brief (and free) therapy session.

Lifetime connections that I shall cherish for the rest of my life. Thanks for everything!
